[RhinoSoft]
 (to be exact)

Rhino Software was founded in October 1996 by Mark P. Peterson and Jim Wayner with a goal of creating software that empowered users of networked computers. Mark P. Peterson With RhinoSoft.com for:
[Mark]

Mark is an "elderly" 45 year-old software developer, who has been writing software for personal computers since 1982. While going to school at Marquette University he joined Aardvark McGraw-Hill writing a Pascal code formatting program for UCSD Pascal, the primary operating system and programming language used at Aardvark McGraw-Hill. Mark quickly moved on to dBase II programming to organize customer orders and records, then to product development working on Aardvark's Estate Tax Planner.

After graduating from Marquette University in 1984 with a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science, Mark joined 3 former Aardvark employees to form Business Systems Design, focusing on Statistical Process Control software used to control and analyze manufacturing operations.

In 1988 Mark left Business Systems Design to work as a consultant at Adicon Consulting and Design where he met and worked with Jim Wayner, co-founder of Rhino Software, Inc. Mark's clients included General Electric Medical Systems, Kohler Corporation, Allen-Bradley / Rockewell Automation, as well as others such as Miller and Thompson Forwarding.

In late 1989, Mark joined Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation where he developed software to control automation devices such as the Smart Linear Sensor, CVIM2, and AdaptaScan. Mark became the lead PC developer for Allen-Bradley's 3rd generation vision inspection system prior to leaving Allen-Bradley.

After more than 5 years at Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation, Mark transferred to Rockwell Software's Emerging Technologies Division. At his new position, Mark worked on the latest technology for Automation software including RSSPC, an ActiveX control used to embed Statistical Process Control in applications.

October 1996 brought the realization of Mark's professional goals: Rhino Software was founded with Jim Wayner. Mark is now Rhino Software, Inc.'s President and primary software developer.

Mark enjoys spending time with his family, SCUBA diving, water skiing, riding his motorcycles, motorcycle building, and takes great pleasure in watching his family and company grow.

Douglas J. Papenthien - Vice President (more...)
Douglas J. Papenthien With RhinoSoft.com for:
[Doug]

Despite having the longest tenure of any person employed by Rhino Software, Inc. outside of the founders, Doug remains one of the youngest staff members employed at Rhino Software, Inc. at 28 years of age. In October of 1999, shortly after the start of his sophomore year of college at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Doug was hired by Rhino Software, Inc. as a part-time employee. Doug began development work on specialized software for WinGate that was designed to help configure computers for Internet access and Internet connection sharing (ICS).

In January 2000, after Rhino Software, Inc. gave notice to its publisher of their intention to terminate their distribution agreement, Doug began teaching himself HTML, ASP, and VBScript in preparation for maintaining the online systems necessary for Rhino Software, Inc. to begin publishing their own software. Serving in this role over the next 2.5 years, Doug created the original online purchase system and many of the original customer service utilities now encompassed by the Online Customer Service Center.

After completing his full-time course work at MSOE in the Spring of 2002 and receiving his B.S. degree in Software Engineering, Doug transitioned to a full-time software development position at Rhino Software, Inc. He began his new tenure by starting development work on the DNS4Me dynamic DNS service. Over the next 4 years, Doug has worked on virtually every product developed by Rhino Software, Inc. in various degrees of involvement.

Currently, Doug is a Vice President of Rhino Software, Inc. He continues to serve as the principal developer of DNS4Me, in addition to Zaep AntiSpam, and also works heavily on Serv-U. Doug enjoys reading just about any book he can get his hands on, reading books to his family, and playing the occasional videogame (or two).
