Serv-U now has Full UNICODE Support

Serv-U Supports UNICODE
In Serv-U 9 and above, all file paths, usernames, and other text fields are now stored in UNICODE. This is a monumental leap because now Serv-U can support any file name, any directory name, any login name, any password, and any text all at the same time! Previous versions could only support English and the language of Windows due to Serv-U's use of the active code page only. Now Serv-U, even when installed on Windows in English, can understand file names, directories, login IDs, passwords, descriptions, etc., in virtually any language - all at the same time. This includes not only the languages in which the Serv-U user interface operates such as Japanese, Chinese, Russian, German, French, Italian, and Swedish, but any other language including Korean, Arabic, Turkish, Hebrew, and even Klingon (yes, Klingon is a part of the UNICODE character set).
As a Serv-U customer, you don't need to do anything. This important change is completely automatic. And since Serv-U's protocols all support UTF-8 (a form of UNICODE), connecting clients don't need to do anything special either; it's all automatic. With the current global economy, universal language support is one more way your company can get an edge on the competition.
